8th Place | Voted Out 5-3
By Nate Gonzalez
#5087 N8 here, fresh off my release from Cook Island County, questions:

How’d you feel about Liliana going home?

Looking at the tribal council, it seems like the vote should have been unanimous for Liliana. Why do you think it wasn’t and do you think it has any impact on the rest of the season?

This is the second vote in a row where four people got votes. Do you think that this is going to continue? Does this say anything about the way the game has been played or will be in the future?

Now that we’re at Final 11, do you feel like you are an under the radar or over the top player? Do you feel like an under the radar or over the top player is the next to go?

This tends to be the point where a strong core group of people tends to form and lines get drawn in the sand. Who’s on your side and how sure of that are you?

#5133 Kimmi do you see any notable similarities or differences in your gameplay this time compared to Nepal? We all know how Nepal ended, have you taken that memory into account when planning your end-game strategy?

#5170 I'm in a rush so I'll answer these questions a bit later, but for now I'll just explain what I think might go down later today. Marissa's name has been tossed around for inactivity, and she's super tight with Sophie. They play it up like we're all besties but I'll be real, I don't fully buy it. I think they see me as their pocket vote, and I'm ok with them thinking that. It'll make it that much more easy to blindside them, which is what I'm planning on doing tonight. I'm discussing voting Marissa and trying to flush the idol from Sophie in one fell swoop. This might put me in a precarious situation because I'm left open to being used and tossed away by the other side of things, but I think I've got some bonds with some of these people that should help me, and some of them know that I'm not just Sophie's puppet so I think they'll be willing to trust me a little. Others like Mookie might need more convincing. He's been questioning like everything I tell him and it's getting irritating. Like, I tell him that Sophie is planning on playing her idol last night no matter what when he brings up blindsiding her and he acts like it's the craziest thing he's ever heard. Now I bring up blindsiding her now that she'll be more comfortable, and he insists she'll play her idol no matter what and asks why I'd want to blindside her. I don't get it, man.

So in short, I'm thinking of blindsiding Marissa tonight. At least it'll be a blindside from me. I don't think she'll see it coming. The best part is that given her activity level, I think I can cover up my true reasoning for it from Sophie and remain in her good graces. This whole early part of the merge has been about positioning for me. I'm trying to set myself up to make some big moves but I don't want to be stupid about this. I get that my game in Nepal was more passive. You guys have been hammering it into me ever since it ended. And constantly reminding me of it here. I get it. I'm not stupid. I get that I need a solid resume if I want to win this. But running into something guns blazing this early on is only gonna end badly. I'm trying to be more tactful about things while setting myself up to make some bigger moves. I've almost got all the pieces in place and tonight will be the start of that, I think.

#5203 Ok, the pieces are in place and Marissa is set to be blindsided tonight. Best case scenario it's a great blindside. Worst case it blows up in my face. Either way it should be fun

#5218 The plan is that at least me, Kelly, Flicka, and Shane vote Marissa while Mookie, Jenna, and Sugar vote Sophie. We'll probably end up shifting that around a bit since there's no guarantee of Shane voting with us and it'd be better to make sure we've got majority instead of needlessly casting votes Sophie's way. Splitting it was Kelly's idea but it doesn't really do any good if the split doesn't have majority over the other side too. It was mainly to throw Sophie off the scent and scare her into playing her idol, but I don't know if that'll happen or not. I'm REALLY hoping she doesn't play her idol on Marissa. That's the worst case scenario, I think.

#5281 Lol, it's a madhouse in here right now. Having immunity and an idea of what the heck is going on is great right now.

#5444 Lol, wut? Ok then. Well she's asking for it back now so I'm in an interesting position. I think I'm actually gonna give it back to her. It'll keep things interesting and I'll have her as a shield, assuming she doesn't turn on me. If I don't she'll out me with it and then I'll be in a mess, so this might be better. Man, I hope I'm not making a stupid mistake here. This is purely political but it could majorly haunt me.

#5449 Giving it back to her now.

Are you worried that if sophie is immune, you are the next person they'll come after to prevent her from getting the necklaces?

#5455 Yeah, a bit. But at least now I'll kind of deserve it, lol. No risk, no reward right? There's 10 people left in this game and I've got some decent connections going right now, so I'm confident about my chances, though
