So I set out this season as an attempt to find diamonds in the rough and create a new slew of all-stars and I can tell you as of right now it was a great success. I literally love everyone left in the game.
We really lucked out with the early double boots and now we are left with the creme of the crop. I think there have been some glaring exceptions like John, Sean and Sandra... but ultimately this is an amazing group and those characters never got off the ground like the rest of the cast.
Going forward, we're looking forward to one of hte best seasons ever I believe. I've been so fucking entertained the past two rounds, I can't even.
Where do we begin. I'll start with the Faroe returnees because I feel like this was one of the strongest showings.
Liliana - What a fucking STAR. The break-out star of this season for sure. And she was a controversial pick for me amongst the co hosts, but I just have a good gut feeling about people after hosting for so long and she spoke to me. No, literally, she spoke to me immediately after Faroe Islands and BEGGED for a spot. That told me a lot, she said she regrets not playing hard from day 1 and only got to play really hard in her last few days in the game. So I took the risk and put her in and WOW what a fucking lunatic. I mean she makes Ceci look like well... old Liliana. She's completely OWNING this game in terms of lunacy. I mean, she's playing horribly, but it's so fucking entertaining. She's created whirlwinds of drama all over the place and then just kinda abandoned them in shambles. It's hilarious to watch. This is definitely the Liliana show thus far.
Flicka - She was kinda borderline All-star but now she's borderline Legend for me. If she can finish this season strong, she's top tier stranded player. She's got it all, she's a solid player, she's frutstrated easily, she's funny and smart and she gives killer audio confessionals. Her storyline last season was being the lost puppy dog who had no idea what she was doing and growing into a bonified thread and solid player in the game. This season it's more of the Spencer game of being frustrated with things not necessarily going her way, but still playing super solid. I like flicka a lot and she's definitely one of the most likable players we've had. Looking forward to seeing what she does in the merge.
Ozzy is, I would say, one of the most influential players of the game. Right from jump he proved what we saw when we originally casted him and also why he deserves a spot here. He's a power player and is DOMINATING the game. It's super impressive to watch. He's not making many wrong moves, he's a very solid player and I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes. He to me has winner written all over him. he's a great player and he's fun to watch. He really cares about the game too and that's endearing.
Mookie is surprisingly quiet here. He started out as a trainwreck and then the hilarious tribe swap happened making him instantly hated by everyone. Then he's sorta cooled down sense and while I still think peopel have animosity towards him for switchign so often, he's kinda faded into the background. That being said, I know he's a big personality and he hasn't seen a lot of Tribal so I'm kinda waiting to see what that will be like. Maybe he's just a crazy personality outside of the game but in the game kinda boring? IDK, I think we just haven't had the chance to see much of him. It's certainly there though.
Moving on, I'll go to the old schoolers.
Rupert, I like rupert as a person, and I liked him as a player, I just think he's not exactly confrontational or incredibly involved and unfortunatley that makes him boring. I wish he would turn loyalty into a controlling thing and then we'd have something to work with, but unfortunately he just stays loyal to one player and lets them make all the moves. That's boring, so while I'm sad to see him quit, it's not the worst thing for the season.
Sugar is fucking SLAYING me. I love Sugar we all know that, but she has brought it this time. I was concerned she wouldn't turn up or become inactive, but no, she's the same Sugar I've known and loved for years. She's making me so proud and really is becoming beloved by a lot of the players here. Her feisty side has started to show with her feud with Sophie and I hope to see more of it in the merge. I'd also like to see her playing harder because I definitely know she can. Lately she's been kinda in a go-with-the-flow gameplay and I'd like to see her call some shots and go on to win this thing. That would be epic. Either way I have so enjoyed her being here.
Shane is delivering for sure. His personality is epic and he's fallen right back into his old villain role of teaming up with the alpha villain, Sophie. He's always played a supporting attack dog and this time it's super entertaining to see. I'm looking forward to seeing what he'll do in the merge situation. I could see him teaming up with people after Sophie leaves and going pretty far. He'll need to play a bit harder to really have a shot at winning here though. Loving having him back <3333333
Kelly is IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE. She's a breakout star here for sure. In her original season she came back for all-stars but nothing ever really happened of note with her. This time she's for sure one of the headliners this season. She's earned legend status, no matter what happens going forward. Causing so much havoc, constantly stirring shit for fun, posting in public, targetting kimmi, stirring shit up wiht sophie, casting a rogue vote for shits and gigs and then blaming it on Kristina and successfully getting her booted. She's a fucking mess and I love every slippery second of it. Definitely one of my favorites this season and I hope hse goes deep wreaking havoc every step of the way. The idea of her and Liliana teaming up is making me fucking MOISTTTTTT.
Let's go tooooo... Nepal.
Kimmi is someone who's never been the most exciting player, but is fun to watch strategically and is someone you root for because she's like watching yourself play. Ever-rational and always overthinking. This time she's been thrust into the spotlight and I'm really eager to see how she plays this. I think she might get stuck in a becky role and go early merge or even pre-merge because she's trying to hide from that spotlight. She's said that she wants to embrace it but, can she? That's the question really. I think she can, she just needs to go for it and get out of her head a bit.
Jenna is doing well and I like her a lot, she's just somewhat irrelevant here. I'd like to see her grow some kahunas and start playing aggressively and scheming with a lot of people. I'll see if I can talk her into it in confessionals, but I'm afraid she'll be a loyal subject to someone and either lose hard in the final 3 or go immediately after that person leaves. We'll see, I'm worried for her tbh. She's fading fast.
Artis I was disappointed with up until the last episode when he brokered a flip on Sophie. It really impressed me that he considered it and explored that option. I foresee him being blindsided in an epic fashion and he's kind of a douchebag in that sense so that might be fun to see. I like Artis though, I feel like he's ALMOST a power player but just too cautious and needs to ramp it up a bit. Maybe in the merge...
Let's go to Namibia now,
David is one of my favorites but we havent seen ANYTHING from him. Still we're getting confessionals of the sleeping dragon awakening and I'm loving it. He's talking about second guessing himself and having drastic mood swings and it's epic as fuck. I just know that's going to come full circle in the end yet again when he loses his mind <33333 Let's hope it's sooner rather htan later and he causes his schenanegans in the merge again. I could easily see this ending the same way with him having a breakdown around final 5 and being the swing vote and i'm very much looking forward to that.
Sophie is one of THE stars of this season, as we knew she would be. She's become the villain and figurehead of the opposing alliance yet again and that's my favorite Sophie. SHe's so cunty and great at it. Let's hope she can make a similar run this season and make it very far <3 She's made this season so interesting and great I'd hate to lose her pre-merge so let's hope she can make a run of this thing yet again and give us another all-star performance. She's already reached all-star status in Namibia, but wiht this second chance, she's earning Legend status.
The outliers:
Marissa is having a bad season so far. She's definitely one of the favorites to take this whole thing, but she's kind of in a weird spot and she doesn't know how to handle it just yet. That's no different from Portugal though and I think that she's going to repeat a late merge finish again. She's epic as fuck when given the chance and I think we'll see that late in the merge, but right now there's not much to report here. She needs to get out of her head too, she's doubting herself too much and it's hurting her game. I also think her outside-game relationship with Sophie may end up costing her if she lets it. We'll see...
Gabriel has really stepped it up and has become a star. His brokering of that sophie coup was amazing and he needs more credit for it. He's finally broken out of the follower role and has become a serious threat! So happy for him and he seems to be enjoying himself and not totally emo or hiding like he was in his original season. I think he's going to do REALLY well here and especially in a merge situation. He's set himself up nicely by playing the good guy most of the pre-merge and he's proven that he has the gonads to step it up and make alliances and play teh game hard when he needs to. Let's hope he continues to do that in the merge.
