9th Place | Voted Out 5-3-1

#5992 Hey Kelly!
So you played the idol but got no votes. What went into your decision to play it? Did you think you were going home, or did you play it for other reasons?

Getting closer to the end of the game, do you think you're building a strong enough resume to present to the jury if you do make it to FTC?

Did the immunity challenge tell you anything you didn't know about alliances and pecking orders?

And what is your plan moving into this next round?

Honestly, I played the idol because I didn't want the tribe to get super paranoid and diverge from the Sophie plot, especially with the rumors circulating that it has been found. I wanted everyone to focus and stay united just for a couple more votes.

I also thought they were targeting me so I wanted to just make sure that I would be fine with such a small vote margin for the Artis votes. I got too cocky and emotional, i should've probed Gabe more so I could have given the idol to Jenna and sped things along.

Interestingly, though the Artis vote kerfuffle exposed even more Sophie treachery so, not a bad bonus.

I would like to think so. In terms of game moves, I'd like to think I was the one who united the tribe against Sophie even before the merge. Also the power shift after the Liliana vote I'd like to think that I had a huge hand in it.

Though really I think it's less about a resume of game moves and more about the relationships you forge in the game. I think anyone can have a good argument of strategy if they make the finals but if people just genuinely hate you through their guts, you're not winning.

Did the immunity challenge tell you anything you didn't know about alliances and pecking orders?

Well it showed that the alliances I know of are all pretty united. Everyone kinda ganged up on Sophie and Artis so that very much showed that they were in the bottom. In terms of a definite pecking order, it's still too early with 10 people still in the game. Usually that challenge exposes a pecking order if it were done slightly later like final 7 or 8. the other thing is that we're not all one big official alliance. this is the big benefit of having someone like Sophie where you can just unite so many different factions against her.

And what is your plan moving into this next round?

In the immediate future it's just to make sure that everyone is secure and will simply unanimously vote for Sophie. She's technically defanged now but she can still wrap herself around you and crush your organs if you're not careful (that was a random snake analogy).

Moving forward though it's gonna be time to make the tough decisions. I just made a final 2 deal with Shane that I actually intend to honor cause that would just be so cool to have 2 old school players come back out of nowhere and make it to the end. I just need to figure out a good foundation to rest ourselves on. If i can convince Mookie and Sugar to take Shane in to our mini alliance, it would be great!

#6058 So things appear to be a lot quieter this morning, which is always scary in this game where scrambling and paranoia and panic are the status quo's. The ideal scenario for the day is that Sophie goes and it's the most united/easy vote we will have had to make since we voted out Kristina all the way back on Kaikusi. I'm still really nervous because this would be a great opportunity for maybe two or three people to jump ship and use Sophie and Gabe to take control. Who they would be I don't know. Kimmi could wise up and realize she could easily use Sophie and Gabe's vote to turn the tide but then that's still only 3 people. I guess Kimmi could use her bond with Jenna and take her along. But again that's only 4 people v.s. 5.

I have a suspicion that Flicka has a fondness for Sophie's siren song, I mean they've been on the same tribe all game so you never know. I know Sugar has seen my strategic side come through and if she gets an inkling of fear towards me, she could easily take Flicka and go with Sophie and Gabe. I'm hoping that letting Mookie in on a group deal with Sugar would help me foresee things with her. Also her general dislike of Sophie, if genuine, would hopefully prevent that as well.

A big issue coming up after Sophie goes is having to get rid of Gabe because he is ridiculously lovable and it's gonna be tough to campaign against him. But I guess that also means it's gonna be tough to go after him in the finals (especially since I'm expecting a bitter jury) so there's an argument there.

I love Kimmi, I wish I could convince Shane to align with her but maybe not with Sophie still roaming the jungle. Though also with Kimmi, we run the serious risk of her being a challenge threat, she's won the damn necklace twice and has said so herself that puzzles and brain teasers are her thing.

And then there is the partner idols that are going to come into play soon. If Sophie does go, the last 2 partners will be me and Gabe and Flicka and Sugar. It's imperative that Gabe not get an idol so that's also another argument against him to go. If Sugar and Flicka get that idol, well a blindside has to come. If we can set up a vote against Kimmi at 8, I could probably structure a blindside with Jenna, Mookie, Kimmi and Shane to take out Flicka. That's still super risky though.
Oh well, I'll cross that bridge when I get there. (and then burn it right after)

#6093 So supposedly, a few people might not make it to the challenge tonight, and arrive later in time for Tribal Council. Which is good because the less people here the less people Sophie can scramble to. This is a pivotal vote. The MOST pivotal. Sophie has to go.

#6305 You were voted most likely to win and most strategic. Are you worried that after Sophie, you are the next biggest threat, and if so how do you plan to counteract that?

#6307 That's news to me but at this point I'm making it up as I go, I'm probably about to be blindsided tonight, maybe with an idol play. If so, Sophie has my vote in the Final 3 lol.

#6311 they are all being targeted of course. But really EVERYONE is a threat in this game.
